Roulette is a form of gambling is named in honor of the French word for "little wheel" which is most likely taken from the Italian game Biribi. In the game, players can place a bet on a single number, various groupings of numbers, the color black or red, whether the number is odd or even or when the numbers are high (19-36) or low (1-18). A croupier turns a wheel in one direction, and then spins the ball in the opposite direction, on a circular track tilted to the side which runs along the outside edges of the wheel in order to identify the winning numbers. The ball loses its momentum and travels through a sequence of deflectors before landing on the wheel. The ball will fall into one of three-seven (single zero, French or European style Roulette), or thirty-eight (3,0, American style Roulette) [1] colored or numbered pockets. The winnings will be paid to anyone who has placed a winning bet.
